The body of a 26-year-old medical intern, Kishan Kumar, was found hanging inside Room 304 of NJN Medical College and Hospital hostel late on Wednesday night. His classmates discovered the body and informed the authorities, following which police arrived at the scene and recovered it. The body has been sent to the morgue for post-mortem. Kumar was a resident of Begusarai, Bihar, and had been pursuing his internship at the medical college.
According to police sources, no suicide note was found near the body, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death. The police have initiated an investigation and are speaking to his classmates, hostel authorities, and colleagues to gather information. The forensic team has also been involved to examine the scene for any possible evidence.
Hospital sources stated that Kumar’s body will be handed over to his family once they arrive from Bihar. Authorities are awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. The police have not ruled out any possibilities and are considering all aspects, including academic and personal pressures, while investigating the case.
The incident has caused tension within the campus, with students and faculty expressing shock over the sudden death.
